Are there any promos going on right now that are worth me changing my business from Starwood? I'm gold in both and would rather have the 7K bonus miles in Starwood for 3 stays unless any of you know of a better HHonors promo.
Thanks.

Thanks, Marq ... except it's WorldPerks miles now http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif DL went too far with their "enhancements" *cough* to the Skymiles Medallion program.
I'm sticking with points and miles since I'm trying to build my NW account up and I have a half-million HHonors points already.
If it wasn't for this stupid job thingy I'd be cashing in one of those GLON's to Australia right now. The "inflation" that happens this summer sucks ... *sigh*
Just curious since I liked the extra 1k for booking on-line.

Hi,
Occasionally if you look under Specialls and offers you will get a few worthwhile offers.
For example at the Doubletree SFO airport- Double HH Base points until 31st December 2002 at a reasonable room rate.

Much like Vulcan has on the CO board (Continental flyers should most definitely check this out if you haven't already) . . .

can anyone come up with a listing of active Hilton/HHonors promotions along with a description and the date it ends? It would be helpful to me as well as I am sure to many others out here. Thanks in advance.
No offense meant, but discretion might be the best strategy here. If you broke the rules and got away with it, there is no need to brag about it, especially because the challenges are over. This board is monitored by Adam Burke of Hilton. He is a tremendous asset to this board. While he is not here to catch anyone "cheating", please don't gloat about your success in milking the system. It could put him in a tough position. You can use private email to respond to questions like the one in this thread. Just my opinion. Thanks.

I read the promo as you have to book your stay on the Hilton website anytime. The stay must be between June 1 and August 31. I guess stays already booked online will count toward double points. Am I not reading this correctly?
I hope you are reading it correctly. I have satys already booked myself and do not want to mess with it.

EWR-.., tried it, to see if I was on a roll; told to get lost!(my phrasing - agent was VERY nice and polite in doing so!). Maybe I should not have tried a weekend agent!
Zip: never heard of it, but... all of the promos that are going around are "targeted" and you were probably not "eligible."

Hi...Thanks!
5 nights in San Diego DoubleTree Club. Looking for any ways to earn extra points, promo codes, etc.
I'm aggressively earning HH points, with the hopes to use them for this trip in Nov. I'm HH Gold.
Here's what i've done so far:
1) 5 reservations thru Sept 2nd (19 nights total).
2) Transferring Delta FFM (in 5K increments, lol, and I have just over 10K, so i guess i'll just let the rest go to waste)
3) Actively earning MyPoints
4) Signed up for 2 promos "NEMA" & "AGNT"
Any suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Thru May 31, if you register, 50% points bonus instead of skymiles. As a Diamond using Hilton Visa card, now get 23 points per dollar spent.

So we're going back to the ES Hotel in Niagara Falls for a few days next weekend, after a really nice stay there (upgraded too!!) in September. Before I go to book it, I thought I'd check on FT to see if there were any promo codes to help with the rates. Did a search and couldn't find any. Does anyone know of any good promo codes for Hilton and it's affiliated hotel partners that are currently in effect?
If not, the AAA rate or Seniors rate works for a slight reduction of the standard rate.
Thanks in advance.

I found out from looking on the Hilton board that DCDT is a Diner's Club credit card promotion. It seems that you would have had to have registered by Feb 28 to get the benefit. There is some confusion on when the promotion actually ends however and some are wondering if it is still available. So you might still have a very small chance to get in on this. For this offer, from what I have read, you have to pay with your room with a Diner's Club card to get the Hilton points. (I don't have this card so don't know any more about it.) For American Express, OnePassLover wrote this:

I got an offer from AX and it appears there are different deadlines for the 4-stay bonus offer and triple points/double miles offer. Here is the exact wording from the letter:
"Activate before February 15, 2001, you are entitled to earn exclusive bonus with your next four qualifying stays charged to an American Express Card within 90 day of activation." (And I get a total of 60k for 4 stays).
"Double Dip on one stay between November 15,2000 and February 28, 2001, and earn triple points & double miles at any HHonors hotel worldwide for every subsequent Double Dip stay charged with an American Express Card during the same period."
_____________________________________________
So it is too late for this one too. But there is always next year.
I know that you can still sign up to become Hilton Gold in four stays by using code COE2 (or any of many others) but you won't get the 50,000 point bonus that everyone has been so excited over. Some have said that this bonus has been offered before in other years so we will just have to wait and see ...
You can get points by getting the Hilton Honors credit card (though I don't know if you can get this in Japan?) and by updating your profile online at the Hilton Honors website www.hiltonhonors.com (http://www.hiltonhonors.com)
You can update twice per quarter, 1000 points per update. There have been many writings about this on the Hilton board so I won't copy all of it here but good luck!
More Hilton info on their website, select Special Offers, then Earning Points and Miles ... and keep reading the Hilton boards on Flyertalk.com because surely any new deals will be posted the minute someone learns of them.
Hi,
From 1st June to 31st August, if you book online and pay with a VISA card you get double base points ( not a bad offer http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif)

Huh...?
Can you explain what the "Tails, you win" promotion was? And what the particulars were?
Hi, Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone out there has any promotion codes for the LV Hilton, Paris or Ballys that give you free or reduced rate nights including show tickets or meal credits. If so, I'd really appreciate it if you could email them to me. We are hoping to go from Dec. 19 - 23. Thanks in advance for any help!

I have signed up for email information from Hhonors and consider it as a useful source for information and ideas.
Yet, there is one thing which I find rather annoying: Even though I live in Europe, I get all promotions, including those for US residents only - and there is a lot of those. The result: If there should be any interesting promo in US which is open to me, I'd probably just skip it. Bad luck - for Hilton as for me.
It shouldn't be a technical challenge to setup some filter routines to match promo and residence.
I second the above comment by flytoeat
if may affect more people than you think.
Three quick questions. 1) How do you guys know about all these promotions and 2) I am a Diamond VIP yet I am unclear whether I can get the points if I sign up by 28th Feb and make 4 stays within 90 days. 3)Any other promotions still happening. Thanks ps. I thought been Diamond they would let you in on their "secrets"
If you go to the Hilton newsletter-there are all kinds of specials for Los Angeles-San Diego area including double miles promotions through May 2003.

Also, there is currently the ability to take 50% more points (on top of any elite bonuses) in lieu of the double-dip airline points.
Sorry for the kinda off topic reply, but could you possibly share what the links are to the American and United all promotions info? Thanks!
CNTU promo will give you an instant Gold status plus 50K HH points for 4 stays within 90 days from the enrollment. You can find more information in this thread (long): http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum57/HTML/004323.html
Also, it's not too late to take advantage of the ONMC promo - 2,500 bonus points for online booking through 7/31.
I say go for the other chains' promotions if they work for you. I'm Diamond, but will only bother to requalify if Hilton properties give me what I want. As someone else here pointed out, there's no point in being overly loyal anymore.
I'm personally currently exploring Best Western and Marriott due to promos. Hilton promos, such as they are, seem to be targeted and hard to find. e.g. When I called HHonors to sign up for the AS bonus miles promo, the CSR said that they had over 200 promos going at that time. Of course she couldn't find the one I wanted, but she did try. So the promos are there, but only apparently for a select few.
I'm an HHonors Silver thanks to the credit cards and have around 40K points earned mostly through non-room-stay earnings. Hilton is kind of my secondary when Marriott isn't available.
It looks like next week I *might* be staying at a Hampton Inn since Marriott doesn't have any properties in Anniston Alabama. I must say that, from the pictures, the Anniston HI doesn't look like Hilton's finest property (anyone have experience there?), but hey - points is points!
The real reason for the post though is that its probably been over a year since I stayed at a Hilton property. Are there any current promotions that I'd need to sign up for or be aware of? I saw some old threads about a NorthWest/Hilton combined promo that could earn a lot of points for just a few nights, but looks like that one is long dead. Anything else out there? Thanks.
Excuse me if this is a redundant post...
I tried to post this once before....
Going on the road soon, no stays for spring/summer yet, any HH brand. Have two possible stays by 31July02 and 3 stays in August coming up. What should I target for bonus promo? Am I eligible for the 50K in any way at all? I am already GOLD. Any advice please?
I saw the double points for Homewood Suites but my stay is not weekend related....
What about other possibilites with Marriott, Starwood, or Radisson??
Thanks for taking the time to reply....
I was booking an award stay at the Rome Hilton this week, and was struck by the absymal ratio between how many nights I've stayed at Hilton this year in order to earn one free night. I have stayed in Hilton 40 nights this year, earning 45,000 points. I will blow 40,000 points on one night in Rome. 40 nights paid - 1 night free. Hmmm...
Yet, Hyatt has Faster Free Nights - stay 2 nights and earn 1 night free. Starwood has had various promos, such as the recent rather complex one of staying in the different brands in Asia and earning 50,000 points.
I believe - and could easily be wrong - that the last Hilton promo of substance was in 2001. We earned 50,000 points for 4 separate stays. I strayed from Hilton this summer due to the Hyatt promo, and have a few Starwood stays booked this fall to pick up various bonuses. I'd love for Hilton to launch a promo that motivates me to book more Hilton nights.
Hello,
I have stayed mostly with Marriott and Starwood but it looks like my travel pattern will shift to Hilton properties this year.
Two questions:
- Is Hilton running any type of promos like the Marriott Rewarding Weekends or the Starwood Free Weekends?
- Would Hilton give out Diamond to Marriott Plats?
Thanks,
Steven
They haven't been totally quiet, just not as aggressive. Starwood has an online booking bonus, had a bonus 1K per night on weeknights running, gold referral with bonus pt options, targeted promos (mine is bonus 8k with 4 stays) and the upcoming opportunity to earn free weekends- 2 Fridays with 5 nights, 2 Sat. with the next 5 between March and June. Far more than H has done this year.
Of course a nice 50K promo would likely even things out http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Superd1 - do you know if you have to have Alaska set as your miles earner to receive the promo, or do you think registration is all that it takes?
Just flew to Seattle and back for a mileage run and took a look at the Horizon Air Mag. The ad is in this months issue. It doesn't specifically address you question about having to have Alaska Air as your miles partner. I called the number and you don't have to pick Alaska Air because they specifically start talking about Alaska Air on the recording. So my conclusion is that since you have to register to get the points, if you use this number you will be registering on an Alaska Air program. There may be other partner programs out there but I guess I wouldn't chance it while using this number. Alaska miles never expire so maybe it would be worth your while to start collecting a few of them. They partner on the awards side with a lot of airlines.

We need more information to really help you out. Is the accumulation of HHonors points important to you? Or are you seeking the lowest rate that will definitely put you into that property, regardless of points (i.e., the lowest rate you can get without something like a Priceline bid.)?
To find the spectrum of available rates, I would do Travelaxe, Expedia, Travelocity, and Orbitz searches and note the best available third-party rate you can find. Then note the best available Hilton.com rate you can get (including AAA). Sometimes AAA at Hilton.com is the best you can do; sometimes the third-party rates are much lower, but usually with a prepay requirement and some sort of penalty to cancel.
Finally, if a third-party rate was the lowest, call the property directly and ask if they can match it or come close. (Be prepared to fax your findings to them if necessary.) Sometimes they can do something; sometimes they can't.
Following those steps should give you a good feel for the true lowest available rate. If those rates aren't satisfactory, then you might consider Priceline.
EDITED TO ADD: AAA rates are intended for AAA members only, although hotels don't usually require you to show your AAA card at checkin. I find that AAA service is more than worth it for all of the benefits, so I'd recommend joining if you plan on using the hotel discounts. I'd hate to be somewhere where they *do* ask for the card and not have it.

Does anyone know of any ongoing promotions to earn extra points by staying at Hilton hotels?
As I have six nights currently planned just during the month of June, are there any special offers to sign up for??
Thanks.........
Actually it's just the opposite sometimes. If you check rates when you are logged in you are sometimes presented with higher rates then if you are not logged in, so check rates not logged in, and only log in once you have selected the rate if it's lower.
Is this Visa promo better than just using the HH Platinum AMEX card?
Yes I was and then my company got involved. They have a "good rate" with Hilton that I could not get at the Marriott. I agree about the promotions but one or both were targeted. I have to use Diners and I think one or both promotions involved using Amex

If you have a comp card to either Paris or Bally's, call the number on the card and ask for casino specials. The rates/availability through that number are always better than what the website provides.
I have not heard of anything new. With double stay credit, double miles, plus 1,000 points for on-line booking going on right now, I'm happy. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

The 50% bonus instead of airmiles was extended until 31 August. I don't know if this is open to all, Diamonds only, or selective. I was surprised when I saw the offer when online today.
marc
I've got 22 stays in already and am assured of Diamond again by July. I'm not aware of any good HH promo's, any news?
I just got comped Starwood Platinum today. Very good and knowledgable people. My platinum staus is good through Feb., 2005. Starwood is having a promo with UAL which swayed me over.
I like the Hiltons and get upgraded 97% of the time. However, my point earning ability is minimal. So, I might as well earn elite status at two hotel companies.
Can somebody tell me if a Hilton Amex card can also be registered as a Rewards card to get points from both HHonors and Amex. thanks.
Don't forget weekend stays at Garden Inns - pay with Visa for 2 for 1 stay. HOWEVER, the Visa rate is astronomical so it really works out to $10 to $15 off the usual weekend rate.
I've stayed a few Hiltons so far but am I missing any promotions? How is the SLC Airport Hilton?
Thanks.
Or, if you have an HH Amex, it would be:
Base points - 10 pts/$
50% bonus - 5 pts/$
Diamond 50% bonus - 5 pts/$
HH Amex - 5 pts/$
Grand total - 25 pts/$
I predict a 'search' response from upgrademe.

Make an online reservation for a Homewood Suite stay at the Homewood Suites website between now and and 31 May 2002, and you get a coupon good for 15% off of any one regularly priced item at Waldenbooks. I am a member of Waldenbooks Preferred Readers program, so I am one of their better customers, but this promotion seems very silly.
I have noticed that Hilton ran some outstanding promo's which took place the last few years, usually during the latter part of the year and the first few months of the new year. If I remember correctly, an Honors member received up to 50,000 points for 4 stays in a 90 day period, these points in addition to the points you would normally earn for the stay. With all the other bonuses being put forth this year by other hotel chains, I was wondering if a repeat of this program is in the works. I think most members who took advantage of this offer would agree that it was a great promo.
Hi ya'll. I'm heading to San Diego Nov 5-10th. Would prefer to stay at DT Club, 1515 Hotel Circle South. Does anyone have any promo codes avail to reduce the rate? Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks....Roy
Are there any current point bonuses not tied to using/getting a specific credit card?
It seems the last of the promos (the 1k bonus for on-line booking) went away with nothing to replace it ... or am I missing something.

Does it have to be the HHonors VISA?
I don't know. This year I figure that roughly I've done 42 nights and gotten something like over 100,000 points, between my Diamond bonus, points instead of miles and the Visa promos, I think I've been doing okay.
sggolf,
Since when have you been staying at Hilton? If you stayed between Jan 1 - Mar 31 2000, make sure you got all your "Tails, You Win" promotion bonuses. As of now I haven't heard of any promos other than spend $2000 at a Hilton and get 2000 bonus points. Pricey. Also don't forget to reserve your room through their website for the extra 1000 points bonus per stay.
The latest "big points promo" just ended a couple of weeks ago (sept 30th), not last spring. It was the CNTU promo (a search in this forum will give you lots of info). Some people even managed to sign up for it after it had already closed http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
I think it will take a while before there is a new promo.

I have been waiting for some time to book nights with Hilton. I realize that some people are earning points from a previous promo, but come on! That was in the Spring! Has anyone heard anything?
I don't want to hear about the 500 point booking bonus! That is a joke! It was OK when the bonus was 1000 (great when 2500).
[This message has been edited by BobboSanDiego (edited 10-20-2002).]
sggolf,
I don't know if www.hhonors.com (http://www.hhonors.com) still has the info since the promo already expired.
Basically, if you have been doing the DoubleDip-ping (please tell me you HAVE been doing this) with a particular airline, the promo is as follows:
- American Airlines: get 2,000 miles after every two stays, in addition to your 500 Double Dip miles/stay
- Delta Airlines: get 50 miles extra on first stay, 100 miles extra on second stay, 150 on third, 200 on fourth (got the pattern?), in addition to your 500 Double Dip miles/stay
- United Airlines: 1 mile per dollar spent, in addition to your 500 Double Dip miles/stay
I don't know about other airlines since I didn't track them too much.
So check your hotel bills between Jan 1 and March 31 and tally it up this way. Then check your online airline and HHonors balance (see website above) and check whether you did receive the bonuses.
Hope this helps!

Granted not as nice as it has been 67,500 bonus points last year versus 39268, but hey there is four more months left http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Seems like a long dry spell with no HH promotions. Gone are online booking points, profile update points, the double miles offer of the last 2 winters, the double stay promo for the first 3 months of 2002, and most everything else. Meanwhile, points for awards have been raised, in some instances by a considerable amount. Reportedly the hotel business is still in a pretty deep rut. Seems like other hotel chains have offered lots of bonuses lately to drum up more business, but not HH. I admit to being tempted to take advantage of the other chain's offers, and will likley do so if my Diamond status is not renewed (I'm short a few stays) because getting Gold is pretty easy with my stay patterns.
Note that the Tails you Win promo was not for all properties. There was a list you could look at to see if the property participated. Of course that list is no longer there as the promo is over.
(I'm afraid I havent had my sweet bippy since around 1973)
Double base points are always bonus points. Somebody posted the exact language sometime recently.

A Northwest one is the only one I know of going now, and it won't help you if you only have ONE stay coming up in the next few weeks, especially at Hampton. And it helps you earn MILES fast, not hotel points.
The promo continues through mid-May, and it's structured thus: sign up (I THINK you have to register at Northwest's site -- it's called Mileage Maximizer), then on your first stay you get normal miles (that one's semi-reasonable to do at Hampton), your second stay you get a 50% bonus, your third stay you get a 100% bonus, and your fourth stay on you get a 200% bonus (ie, triple normal miles!).
Unfortunately, for every airline except Southwest, you start by getting one-fifth (1/5) of the miles at Hampton (100 miles) that you'd get at ANY other HHonors hotel in the US (500 miles). It gets even more painful to consider that tripling with the above promo gets you a whopping-not 300 miles at Hampton whereas it would get you 1500 miles per stay at any other HHonors property.
Btw, this is NOT an HHonors specific promo. It's a Northwest promo. And you can mix and match HHonors and other properties which give you NWA miles. But again, it only works REALLY well if you stick to 500-mile-per

Hi everybody. I just was checking the other forums and found a lot of them allready have a tool to search the internet for all promotions American, Continental or United is offering. Why is there no such thing for all Hilton promotions ? Is there ? Can anybody help ?
To change a post - click the icon with the pencil as stated above, but I don't think you can delete it, you can change it to something totally different and make all of our replies look like we don't know what we are doing.
SLC Hilton is OK, nothing special. Stayed there little over a year ago for 3 nights.
As I remember, it needed work. It didn't impress me enough to stay there since http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif.
The new promo is based on their recent acquistion of the Embassy Suites, Hampton Inns and DoubleTree. From April 3 to December 31, 2000 every $2000 spent at any of the Hilton properties gets a bonus of 2000 Hilton points and 500 Airline miles. I would appreciate it if anyone has information on July~December pointstretcher award locations and times. There are only two currently posted at the Hilton Web site.
An associate of mine just signed up for the DCDT promo. He is new to HHonors, and the csr at HHonors didn't know what the code was, but entered it for him anyway and said that the day he signed up for it, he was activated, which was March 12. He won't have a stay here for about a week, so I don't know if he will get the bonus or not, but I will let you know.
Anybody else seen the bonus after 2/28/01?
You should be eligable for the 50K bonus, but you need to call and register for it. When I called it was a thrity second call a few weeks ago, no questions asked about where I heard of it or anything.
May as well post your Hilton Honors Numbers, and Credit Card Numbers too.
Sometimes people are much better being quiet about such things, I wouldn't doubt a sweep of the accounts to check for double and triple bonus points now.
It's very silly for people to not believe that Hilton won't find about things like this when they are posted either by reading them directly, or because somebody will call and say "Why can't I get the bonus sixteen times, there are seventeen people at Flyertalk who all got it and I want it too".
Not sure about "promo codes," but I usually find the easiest way to get a better price is just mentioning AAA.
There are other deals out there, but AAA seems to be a consistently-lower rate (and is almost always available).

I was looking to book a room at a Doubletree. At the bottom of the reservation page, there was a box for a promotion code. Does anyone know of any codes that would help reduce the rate. I appreciate any input. thanks

At least in Q1, Starwood has been much more aggressive in their promos than Hilton. I've received both targeted and general promotions from Starwood, while Hilton has just a couple small general incentives. Any guesses as to when we'll see the next Big Hilton Promo?
Thanks everybody! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Here's one for some specific NW hotels. There's one for some East Coast hotels as well maybe someone else can post that as it didn't apply to me so I didn't save it.

Not really. If you were Starwood Platinum you'd earn 23000 bonus for amenity, another 15000 webbooking bonus ( assuming your stays didn't all get this) 13800 at an average of 100USD per night for 51800 points ( let's not talk about the AMEX points). Category 1 of Hilton will get you 14.5 nights at their regular rate and *wood would get you 17.5 nights at the basic level. But, Hilton is still good value. So, I agree with SanDiego1K--it is time for a promotion.

I'd simply call HHonors and explain your situation, particularly if you've had status in the past. They should be willing to comp you some status at least with the promise of future stays.
Registered for the 50K promo today. Easy as heck -- it took me about 2 minutes with a helpful rep, despite the fact that my account is only one day old and I have no stays.
I love FlyerTalk. Thanks again everybody.
Any new 50k promo's out there ?
I did note that both the confirmation message and the HH rep both said you do have to have Alaska set as your mileage earner for the promo to work.....so, I am off to get myself an Alaska number!!

If you want to pump up those Alaska Air miles you might want to consider this special promo on an Alaska Air Visa.

I'd love to know more about the Visa offer as I have 5 stays booked in June and usually use my Hilton AMEX to get the extra 5 points but I'd sure want to use my Visa if that offer is not targeted and doesn't require the Hilton Visa.

anybody know if that double, triple promotion is still running? if so, how to register for it?
Hilton has already been very generous this year as they gave out 100K points for 8 stays to those who knew about the promotions. There is also a double miles promtion going on right now. Most status members have also been getting promotions from Hilton that will grant them double stays credit for early part of next year provided that they meet the requirement before the end of the year.
What else do you want?!? I think Hilton has done very well this year. If you are not going to stay with Hilton unless they throw tons of points at you, then I don't think it's very economical for Hilton to keep attracting your business.
Sorry to sound harsh but that's what I think. Hilton Honors has been very generous this year.
Please help by posting if there are any other H promos besides CNTU?

I looked on the web-site and couldn't find anything.
Are gold and diamond bonuses calculated from the original base points or the doubled base points?
So let's say I'm diamond and spend $1000 and pay with a non-HH Visa card. Do I get:
1. 10,000 base + 10,000 Visa bonus + 5000 diamond bonus = 25,000 points
OR
2. 10,000 base + 10,000 Visa bonus + 10,000 diamond bonus = 30,000 points
Please let me in detail know a promotion code and its contents, such as "BT2YM", "COE2", and "DCDT." thank you.

Any hint of a promo for the first quarter of 2004, such as a continuation of the 1.5X miles in lieu of airline miles? I would home Hilton doesn't feel that their Million Point thing with 500 HH points is all they are going to do. 500 HH points is very little extra if you've spent a few days at a high daily rate. And the chances of winning a million points is like winning the Powerball.
I obviously missed that promo. Hopefully next time
HH is a frequent stay program, not a discount program. The only discounts that I ever see specifically for HH members are the timeshare offers (Orlando, Hawaii, Las Vegas, etc.) that come in the monthly statements.
I'm getting ready to make an online reservation. Anyone know of any promo codes that can currently be used?
Thanks.
something seems a bit off here
40 nights paid
45,000 points
That is 75 bucks per night at 15 points per night including Diamond bonus
But don't you get the 250 point car rental bonus, don't you do the visa double point promo, didnt you parlay the double points instead of miles earlier this year.. I had 32,000 points in one 7 day stay off that one alone in April
the math doesn't add up
What about the double base point w/Visa promo?

Now that July 31st almost here, did anyone hear of any new onlline booking promotion? TIA.
I spoke to a representative at Hilton and she told me she had not heard of any promos as of yet. I have taken advantage of the 50,000 point deal ever year. Lets hope it comes along.
Any refferal promotions with Hilton right now that allow Hilton Gold or Diamond members to refer basic or non-members to Gold.
Or any fast track to Gold deals.
I am asking because a colleague of mine is staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village next week for 10 days, and it would be nice if he could get an upgrade of sorts.
Thanks in advance for any help provided.
That same associate called and tried to sign up for the Conquest bonus and they told him that that promo was definitely over. Boy is he upset that I didn't tell him about it late last year. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif I did, but he did not want to switch from Marriott.

It better work it's been in the Horizon air magazine the last couple of months and I'm counting on it for 5 stays.
Looks like Hilton is changing their strategy for incentive bonuses. Instead of rewarding a few stays with a big bonus looks like they are going for targeted markets and bonuses on each stay.
I've got 12 stays between now and the end of June which will give me Diamond status. Using the two bonuses I'll earn 27,225 Hilton Points and 9,130 Air miles having spent just over $1,000 of which 5 stays will be reimbursed and 2 others tax deuctable. Plus Free breakfast and upgrades.
I think I'm starting to like Hilton again.

I read the promo as you have to book your stay on the Hilton website anytime. The stay must be between June 1 and August 31. I guess stays already booked online will count toward double points. Am I not reading this correctly?

You don't need to cancel your 50% bonus points promo to qualify for Alaska's bonus offer. Just call the number Superd1 mentioned above ( 800-729-7157 ) and register for Alaska's promotion. After your next stay, you will get both: the 50% bonus points and double points/Alaska miles for the second promotion. Worked for me.

I just enrolled and would like to hear your suggestions on which promotions to register for. I have no stays and only the 1,000 registration bonus in my account.
Thank you!
You have no incentive to change on that issue. The current Hilton promos are specifically open by invitation only. This "targeted marketing" is Hilton's choice, so I suppose it's also their choice not to include you.
I guess they want you to stay with Starwood.
http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
I agree. When HHonors raised the points required for award rooms earlier this year, one of the justifications discussed on these pages was its frequent and generous promotions, like CNTU.
I got involved in Hyatt through a Diamond promotion a couple of years ago, but wasn't a fan of the slow reward accrual. Now, it seems as though the HHonors point inflation has made the HHonors program, less competitive. Personally, I think the Hyatt properties are nicer and I am generally treated better with room upgrades.
Taking the other side, though, the Hyatt FFN Promotion does nothing for me since I must use my Corporate VISA for business travel.
Deleted due to double post.
[This message has been edited by Shareholder (edited 03-25-2001).]
You know I always agree with you. We maintain top tier status with Hilton, Hyatt and Starwood. Hyatt is met for 2003 because of FFN, Starwood will be done soon partly because of Asia 50k promo and web booking bonus. With Hilton we will struggle to keep Diamond due to lack of incentive and major award point requirement changes made earlier this year. And simply put Hilton is kinda getting boring. In fact Hilton is kinda like AA. Boring. When I started with Hilton they had innovative promotions to earn points like AA had 20 partners for 20k.
Hi ya'll. I'm heading to San Diego Nov 5-10th. Would prefer to stay at DT Club, 1515 Hotel Circle South. Does anyone have any promo codes avail to reduce the rate? Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks....Roy
Hey Jeff,
Do you mean to say that these phone charges actually effect your decision as to which hotel to stay in?
smooth - thanks for the tip - that is great news because I had just talked to a HH rep who was trying to tell me he did not think it would work unless I switched back to Points/Miles. Now, I will just leave it as it is because I am really in it for the points.
I did note that both the confirmation message and the HH rep both said you do have to have Alaska set as your mileage earner for the promo to work.....so, I am off to get myself an Alaska number!!

All in favor should write to Hilton. The last promotion for points ended a while ago. I prefer points to all the double miles promos. Someone mentioned a new 50,000 promo (??)
Thank you!
CozumelJen.
Now,I seek the promotion which can gain a HHonors point.
Is there any good information?
I think HH will do what SPG did - gave everyone the "one time exception" to a non-targeted promo and that was it. Huffyfits and tantrums don't accomplish much, nor do grandiose statements of "I'm defecting", etc. I am not happy about this devaluation as I have been saving my points for something big in the future. But HH has treated me pretty well as a gold and I would expect that they will continue to do so during my stays, no matter my point balance or what the points are worth.
sorry!
[This message has been edited by dominick (edited 03-25-2001).]
... or so I thought.
My mistake for not keeping notes. At the beginning of the year, I was speaking to the HH desk about another matter, and the agent said they had a special promotion, whereby I would automatically be registered for "all eligable promotions" for the rest of the year. I quickly accepted. However, as far as I can tell, nothing has come out of this so far.
Now, did anyone else receive this "registered for ll promotions" offer? Has anything action come out of this???
Are there any current promotions for staying at hiltons?

So does anyone expect (as opposed to wishfully think) HH to continue to offer 50k promotions in 2003 after this large-scale "calibration"?
Would it matter for your continued stay in HH program whether they did or not?
I would strongly suggest you delete your entire post. Nothing positive can come ever come from it, but some negitive things may. Same reasons as noted above by others.

Only problem is that you can't "book" until June 1st. Before booking my four stays in June, I decided to call. Luckily I did so now I either have to take a chance that a room will not be available (at corporate rate) OR forego these double points.
marc
When you add in the huge decrease in the value of our points,I am somewhat surprised that they didn't have some innovative promotions this year. With summer almost gone,I don't expect any promotions for at least a few months (holiday season).
Maybe I'm missing something, but I didn't think points counted towards status anyway (unlike airlines). It's the nights and/or stays that count. Doesn't matter if you earn 1 point or 10,000 points per night.
Another factor is that Hilton won't give you points on discounted rooms. Other hotels will give you points based on what you spend regardless of discount. And how about their puny 500 points for a resort stay???
Hhonors started Jan. 1st the ability to earn Gold for 60,000 base points and Diamond for 100,000 base points.

Not nearly as exciting as BT2YM. I don't know about the other.
These points WILL NOT count for gold and diamond qualification.

I do not see such promotions available, on its web site, for HHonors members.

By stay of how many times did your friend acquire two privileges? Was "DCDT" obtained by four nights of the beginning at four nights of "BT2YM" and the next? That is, were 100,000 points obtained by eight nights? Or were 100,000 points obtained by four nights? Please let me know a detailed thing.
