Here the redesign pages will have PHP extension while the current version is in HTML. Drug czar gives warning : Local : Redding Record Searchlight:: not want to get hurt because I walk into a marijuana garden accidently. traffic laws and i was informed they didnt have enough manpower to do that! http://www.redding.com/news/2007/jul/13/drug-czar-gives-warning/HOME |
Steps to follow
1. Get all the pages which are indexed in search engines, search in google and yahoo.com - site:www.MYDOMAIN.com. Once you have all the URLs of current site move to step number 2
2. Match the current list of URLs with new relevant pages. Then make use of 301 redirect of old pages to new pages. Insert 301 redirect code in .htaccess file at root. With 301 redirect you will continue to get visitors as the old ranking pages will redirect visitor to new relevant pages + most important 301 redirect will suggest search engines to transfer all the page value to new pages which the old pages has gained over a period of time.
3. Make sure you sign up with Google Webmaster Tool and submit your NEW XML sitemap.
4. Also formulate the new meta tags for new pages ......based on experience and results which you use to generate from old URLs.
The above task will ensure No loss of visitors or page value from search engines!! Within 15 to 20 days you will see your new pages replacing old URLs in search engines.
