What are your theories of Breaking Dawn based on the title and/or cover art? My theory: The cover art : Bella becomes a vampire; the cold, hard, white queen on the cover, leaving the warm, weak human behind. That's my theory on the cover art. On the title: Dawn means the sun coming out Since the sun represents Jacob (bella's personal sun)and breaking its like dying, so i guess Jacob dies so does dawn and the sun: Leaving night and darkness for Edward and new vamp, Bella together. =] What are you theories??
my theory
the cover: Bella is the queen who has become a vampire and the pawn represents the blood thirsty part...but the queen is in front of it like she has past the pawn so maybe because when she is a human she hates the smell of blood it wont bother her. she mite be like carlisle and she is practically the same as her human self besides from her immortality and stuff. she mite not get blood thirsty because she mite get a power. her power could be something to do with resisting things or mind control cause she has a strong mind like how edward cant read her mind.
The title: is definitely about Jake. it mite be about him dying cause in the first chapter it said he was in a Alaska which is where the denali family lives and they hate the werewolves for killing Laurent.
if he doesn't die it mite be about him falling apart because Bella is in love with a vampire and is going to get changed into one and he loves her.

My therory on the cover art is that Edward is the vampire in front, and Jacob is in the back. He is waiting to confront Edward in a fight. That may sound cheesy or absurd, but I think it makes sense :) The title makes me think they are trying to hurry to get her into a vampire as dawn breaks due to maybe the Volturi, again maybe it's absurd but It's my best judgement! :) hope this helps!

I think the two pieces on the board represent a change in Bella, but not neccessarily the change into a vampire. Bella has been a very weak character who could not live without Edward throughout this whole series, and I think that the pawn to queen represents Bella gaining strength and confidence in herself. I think that in this book she might become less dependent on Edward and be able to stand on her own. Also, I hope Edward dies and Bella goes to college and meets a normal guy. my theory on the cover was exactly the same as your theory. It makes a lot more sense than these 'it represents edward and jacob fighting theories' as for the title i dunno.

I personally think that the cover art has something to do with bella making the choice of become a vampire,
they are both to do with her becoming one, the white peice and the reason why she wants to become one is the immortality, to be able to live with edward for eternity, also the white marble, is what she will become,
whereas there is also another part of becoming a vampire, the downside, the bloodthirsting, which symbolises the red peice..
and the white queen piece, is both bigger and more powerful than the pawn, showing that she believes the good things about becoming a vampire are better -& over-rule- than the bad things about become one..
also the chess board could be like a battle? 2 sides going head to head in a war (like the game chess, except its not a war.. its a game) maybe it stands for the cullens verse the volturi?

ive got one for you. red represents edward. white represents jacob. on the cover of the first book, it was a red apple that was a focus, showing how bella only thought of edward. on the second cover, it was a white flower covered in blood, showing that although bella loved eward, jacob was beginning to gain importance in her life. the third book showed a rip red sash, that could represent how edward is breaking out of Bella's mind, as jacob takes more importance. so in the new one, the fact that a WHITE chess piece takes more focus over the RED chess piece, could show that bella choses jacob over edward.
My theory:
Well Eclipse was based partially on the poem 'Fire and Ice'
'Some say world should end in fire
Some say in ice
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire
But if it were to perish twice
I think that ice is also great
And would suffice'
So red usually means fire and white ice
So i think that the cover art is just saying that Ice will win or perhaps since it is the Queen in chess, its usually the favored peice, but the pawn (the red one) is the least favored peice

title= ya, that could be it! I mean she always describes Jacob as her "sun" and remember: people keep on mentioning that the Denali will have a big part in the book and they hate Jacob, well all the werewolves, because they killed Laurent and they were close with him. ( went to live with deneli 4 a while, remeber)
Also maybe the Deneli will hate bella because she brought this all upon them or something!
