On The Identification And Illustration Of A Process Used For Dealing With Difficult Situations
The process I have identified and wish to illustrate is called The CAUSE-RESOLUTION PROCESS . This process is quite simple and apt for problem identification and resolution.
The CAUSE-RESOLUTION PROCESS consists of:
1. Identifying the cause(s)of a Difficult Situation
2. Identifying possible solutions to resolving the situation at hand.
3. Choosing the best of solutions from a possibly available list of solutions.
4. Applying according to the prevailing situations, the best of solutions
1.Identifying The Cause(s) Of A Difficult Situation
This stage consists of accepting the reality that there exists a difficult situation and taking a firm resolution to identifying possible causes for the occurrence of this difficult situation/problem. This is to permit one foresee any possible reoccurrence of a similar unpleasant situation. However, identifying these causes may be a challenge as one might be caught up in a web of brainstorming. Upon ensuring that the above have been satisfied, it becomes possible to move a step forward towards the resolution of the situation.
2.The Identification Of Possible Solutions To A Problem
So many difficult situations of different nature can have a similar solution outline, just like a single situation can have so many solutions each completely different one from the other. Our interest though lies in the latter. A difficult situation can have so many solutions, though not all of these solutions will bring a long lasting and appeasing satisfaction. However the concern here is to identify all possible solutions to a problem, that is, any process that will put to term a difficult situation. If at least one process can be identified and found to have the capacity of mitigating a difficult situation, then there is a great chance of resolving the situation at hand.
3.Deriving The Best Of All Possible Solutions From Some Possibly Available List Of Solutions
As said in (2.) above, not all solutions can bring a long-lasting and appeasing satisfaction, especially when there is the consideration of some possibly imparted damages whether physical, psychological, or emotional. But because some imparted damages may have long-lasting effects, any considered solution must be ensured that the existing damages and prospect damages, and their effects are curbed or better still stopped. As it is possible that a given chosen solution is found after proof by some possibly existing principle analysis, or empirically, to be good only for a very limited extent. As concerns the evolution of the consequences of the situation, subsequent consequences of the difficult situation will not be considered in the extent of consistency of the chosen solution. Rendering the chosen solution useless beyond the point in time at which it was applied. This in fact, will not be a solution to the existing situation as it is not far reaching but is just a quick remedy to the situation. The chosen solution must have the property necessary to serve as a solution to any difficult situation that has more than 50% resemblance with the situation for which it was derived and it must also take care of the effects of the situation that created need for it s derivation.
In summary, the chosen solution must be highly celebrated and also, should possess the quality of being a possible solution standard to solutions of any difficult situations that are, in any way related to the one from which they can be derived, or which have more than 50% resemblance with the original situation.
4.Putting An End To The Situation At Hand
This is the last stage of the CAUSE-RESOLUTION PROCESS implementation. This final stage consists of putting to practice the chosen solution. It must be noted that a solution may be rendered inconsistent when prevailing situations are considered as simple consequences of the situation at hand, though originally good for the purpose for which it was derived, or because of its shallow nature as concerns the resolution of the situation. That is, it s lack of depth.
However, as stated in (3.) above, the chosen solution must take into account the evolution of the situation for which it was derived, including the effects that come from the situation responsible for it s derivation and not forgetting the possible situations that can be derivatives or consequences of the original one.
Hence, upon the application of a solution, it becomes logical to hope and wish that order and peace be restored as fast as possible, and rational to learn from the situation and keep in mind the causes and conditions that lead to the occurrence of the situation in question, making sure that in the future all necessary precautions and conditions are taken to identify and curb or simply put to halt the possible reoccurrence of a similar situation.
As a final note, the CAUSE-RESOLUTION PROCESS is a process whose importance cannot be over-emphasized in difficult situation resolution.
However, it cannot be ignored that this process is quite satisfactory in the provision of solutions when confronted to difficult situations though not all-encompassing. In spite of this, most of the difficult situations I have come across, I have been able to resolve with the help of the CAUSE-RESOLUTION PROCESS . I believe this process for resolving difficult situations is quasi-all encompassing.
