Many of my friends are saying that they dont pay a base salary for "sales management trainee" . Is it true . Please help me decide to go to the interview or not . I am from India and I dont have any idea of what to expect in a "sales management trainee" post . Is it only commission pay.
You should not listen to your friends. The only way for you to find out for yourself is to go to the interview. It may not be to your liking, but perhaps you will make a good impression that will result in a different position with the same company.
The reason you go to interviews is to find out what the position entails. You should definitely go to the interview with a list of these questions. Depending on your skill set, you may be able to negotiate a better deal for yourself if they decide to hire you. Even if you don't take the job, at least you can find out everything the job entails before you make a decision. And, interviewing takes practice. You should attend as many as possible to brush up your skills when the right job comes along.
Please be very careful if they try to get you to "invest" in any sales materials or samples. That is a sign of a scam. This could be a legitimate job but unfortunately you need to be careful.
I'd go but keep your eyes open.
