My wife likes cats, and I'd like to have a pot-bellied pig...but we can only afford the food & vet bills of ONE animal, so here's what I plan to do....
We'll buy a cat to make her happy, but I'm going to design a "pig costume" for the cat..... rubber snout, wire guide to curl its tail... and even wrap pig skin around it so I can feel the stiff hairs in contrast to the cat's soft fir.
Is there anyone who would think I've got a mental problem?

You will need to send the cat to a government run indoctrination center (AKA public school) so that it knows that you must be tolerated regardless. Then you can shave it smooth and have a butcher use a sharpie to identify each portion of your pseudo pig. Use food coloring to pigment the skin a brighter pink and take away the litter box. Give it a troff to eat from and tada you both get what you want.
