Lets say you wipe your toddlers hands and your hands at least 20 times day maybe even more. Can that dry out your hands and maybe even your cheeks? (I'm not doing this someone i know is)
Of course it can. baby wipes contain alcohol.
If it is with only water it will definitely dry out their hands. Water will evaporate and suck the moisture out of the cells of the hands. I would recommend not washing hands that frequently [since the child will have very little exposure to germs, and result in being ill a lot of the time] or using lotion after every wash. Yes it does, not only does it contain alcohol that is primarily used for the killing of harmful bacteria and germs, but depending on the brand that is being used, especially on newborns, additives like fragrence and colouring and even those used for 'lotion like qualities' can lead to sensetivities of the skin and allergic reactions like rashes or hives. While the liklehood of this happening on babies of 6mths and upward to toddlers is at its minimun, its still not a good idea. Wipes are made for generall clean up use, of the messy diaper kind and even in lieu of bathtime cleanup not for "ohmigosh you touched a snail, come here let me clean you up' cleanup, that's wasting wipes and money. Besides children need to develop immuniteis and one way they can do this is by 'touching snails'
