Demoted. How do I get over being demoted? Emotional breakdown?
So, I have worked for this company for six years now. During my fifth year I resign because my manager and the director of maintenance (my manager's friend and roommate) thought of me a a second class citizen because I am a woman. So I left. The owner came to me asked me to be his assistant. I thought how hard can that be. Three months into the job (after my probational period was passed) I learned that it is hard as hell. Nothing is organize and there is no structure for anything. He fired his controller and his revenue manager. His accountant quit on him. The hell began. He asked me work on Loan Packages, Property Taxes, Personal Estimated Taxes, hotel refinancing, purchasing of a house, etc. I have never done anything with any items or was trained on this items. So every time I made a mistake he would throw a big fit. I do have to say the one thing that he did for me that not any employer would do. He bought me a brand new car under my name and told him I could pay him back when I am financially stable. But just because of that I am not going to throw my dignity away. He told I am destine to fail. Because it is my genes (I'm Mexican) and that Mexican are lazy and not business smarts. Also, because I am a woman. Today, he told me that I am on the stupid side because I screwed up and I am never going to have the opportunity he gave me and I am not going to realize my dreams.
