  • Well the first thing to understand is that videos are actually comprised of many separate images displayed one after the other very rapidly. The more image frames that are shown per second, the smoother that video will be. For reference movies are usually shot at 24 frames per second, conventional televisions, depending on what country you live in, show either 25fps or 30fps*, most modern HDTVs can handle 60fps, and computer monitors can usually do 75fps or more.

    15 frames per second is pretty much the bare minimum you need so that the picture isn't jerky. Motion might appeared blurred however.
