I have a sparrow that covers the whole top of my right foot. It took about an hour and is fairly detailed.
It hurt pretty bad, especially when he went over the little boes (I have boney feet anyway)
The tenderness lasted about a week and a half before I didn't notice it at all, but everyone is different.

On average 72 hours or until the SCAR develops. The scar is the first sign that it is healing.
If it is still swollen beyond 72 hours you are possibly entering the phase of awe s*hit I shouldn't have done it!
If the body rejects any foreign object, an infection sets in. It is the body's defense and nothing you can do. Doctors will give you anti-biotic but if you've been paying attention to recent research, anti-biotic reduce the body's defense and other complications may develop.
It is like removing a couple of lugs from a wheel. In the beginning it may be O.K. for the first 50 miles but then .... oops there goes the wheel down the median and you're running on 3 wheels instead of four. Get my drift?
Best solution is NO TATTOOS. If you want to "be part of the crowd" go buy the ones you can paste on and then remove them in the shower later. That way you can have your cake and eat it too. Be "in" by showing off your tattoos while at the beach and "be safe" by not having it permanently done.

alt ho i don't have any others to compare it too. but seriously it just felt like a burn sorta. the most painful part was trying to was out right after && trying to walk right after you wash it because it is a tattoo && its going to be tender && when you wash it , the skin tightens back up. my tattoo artiest told me as long as you keep it clean && dnt let it dry out, the color will stay. and when it is healed to keep sun block (at least spf30) when you are going to be out in the sun.
as far as how long they last, im assuming if you do keep sunblock on it && do what you are supposed to it will stay.
hey! i have a tattoo that starts on my ankle and comes down onto my foot. Is it painful....simple answer is yes, because it is on the bone. altho i thaught it was most painful on the ankle rather than the front on the foot. Dont use a numbing cream because that interferes with the skin tone which can lead to fading of the tattoo. It also depends on how big the tattoo u want is? if its small then it will only be around 10minutes os pain, but its bearable pain. get a friend to go with u, its always better to tlk to someone while its happeneing. iv got no experiences with this, but i have been told that the closer the tattoo is to the bone, the more it hurts (ex: one on your hip would hurt more than one on your stomach) as your foot has a lot of bones in it, id say yes.
Getting your feet tattooed hurts... and they are hard to heal because they are the furthest from the heart (blood supply.) They are also soooo itchy when they are healing.
I recently got the tops of both feet tattooed. I have a few friends who had one done, and then never went back for the other because it hurt so bad. That being said, the second one was harder to sit for because my body had just bottomed out. I drank a green tea soy latte and was back on.
You need to be able to go barefoot for about 2 weeks - or at least get shoes that don't touch the tatts at all.

Yes, they hurt and are dangerous, a lot of places won't give you one on your feet.
the hurting part of it is if you can tolerate the pain and if you mean by how long it'll take to get it done well it depends on the how big the tat is and how much detail you are wanting!
I hope you mean how long does the PAIN last. everyone has a different threshold for pain so just because it hurt or didn't hurt someone else doesn't mean you'll feel the same way.
It depends on ur tolerance for pain. But it does hurt a bit and ur foot will feel swore for a day or so..Its not that serious...
I have one on each foot and they take up my whole foot. I have a high threshold for pain so they didn't really hurt too much. I stupidly got them done a few days apart which made it almost impossible to wear shoes. My foot was swollen and bruised afterwards for a few days but nothing major. Go for it...it's a few hours of pain for something that lasts forever.
It's a cluster of needles being pushed into the skin; it's going to hurt. How long the colour holds properly depends on your aftercare, the inks used, and the skill of your artist.
Ask to see portfolios of previous foot work, preferably with healed pictures.

i just got a foot tattoo on this past tuesday increasing my number of tats to 4. i didn't have any problem with swelling or trouble walking on my foot. it's doing great and healing well because i am using Raven tattoo care cream.
it hurt yes because it was a tattoo but it wasn't anything that you couldn't handle. i actually didn't mind the pain but i guess everyone is different.
but, if it is what you really want then i say go for it. because if you want it bad enough pain wouldn't be an issue.

i got mine done last night... it hurt more so than any other ive had (lower back anc outside ankle) but thats it. it just hurt for the duration that he was doing it.
Yup. All tattoos hurt, but my feet were more painful that most of the other spots. They also got swollen afterwards and I had to take care to stay off of my feet for a few days. I had both done at the same time, larger pieces on each.
My artist also warned me to be very careful of infection, I guess the feet are more prone and I have cats, so she was concerned about the litter and the kitties tracking it over the house.
If your other question was how long do the tattoos last on your feet, the obvious answer is forever, but the feet are more likely to have ink migration and line blurring. It's super delicate skin. I put sunblock on mine anytime I wear flip flops. I take it with me for things like outdoor concerts, picnics and the beach.
They are about 3 years old and they look just as good today as the day they were done. I also have a highly skilled tattooist that uses only the best products.
Depends on your pain tolerance. I got mine done a few years ago and it takes up the better part of my foot, and felt very little pain, same with my neck, etc. The after care wasn't bad either, I was healed in a little less than a month. It all depends on you and how well you handle tattoos and how well you heal.
If you've had numerous tattoos done by the same artist just ask them how bad it hurts and if you can handle it. I know I went to mine after reading on here how badly they hurt and she told me not to worry about it...I could handle it...LOL
