yes it does hurt! DUH! They don't show pain cause they wanna look tough on national TV
Yes it's sore but bearable enough to not pull a face of pain. During times on the tattoo on my wrist and the one on my ribs there was times where I almost cringed with the pain but it's not that bad.
Simply, the pain involved depends on several factors, 1- Your personal pain tolerance, 2- The skill and style of the artist, 3- where you get the tattoo, 4- how long you sit for and the detail of the tattoo.
Obviously everyone has a different tolerance for pain. Also, the artist doing the tattoo can have a huge affect, some artists are a bit rougher than others. You also have to consider the location, the ribs, neck and feet are some of the more painful areas for most people. Typically areas where there is less fat and more bones will hurt more. Finally, the longer you sit for the more it will hurt. I sat for almost 4 hours once. I was fine until she started doing the shading and finishing touches on areas that were already sore from 3 hours of a needle dragging across my back. I can highly recommend asking your artist if they use Bactine spray as this REALLY helps to alleviate some of the burning and can help numb the area a bit.
I got a tattoo on my foot a couple weekends ago and I'll be honest.... it hurt REALLY bad. It's a weird pain though... like a mini electrical shock.
u stop feeling pain after a while. that's why. the outlining hurts....oh well it hurt me but that was it!
why do you think most people get drunk before tattoos? they use needles to stick you over and over what do you think?
some do and some dont. The one on my chest and back didnt hurt at all, but the one on my ankle hurt like hell. just depends on where you get it done.

Not really. It's just gonna be kind of a shock to you. Your muscles will be spasming uncontrollably for the first 20-30 minutes, that's why you should get someone good to do yours like I did.
After a while, it get's rather annoying. Kind of like a very aggressive vibration.
It's not too bad. I got my first tattoo when I was 16 (Now.) My parents lettin' me get another for the 17th B-Day...

Just depends how much you can take pain. I mean yeah it hurts but not so much your bursting out in tears screaming.
It varies person to person, I thought it hurt like hell, my cousin said hers did not hurt at all. PS some one said something about getting drunk before you get a tat, that is a very bad idea, it thins your blood and could cause more bleeding, and tattoo artists do not want your blood all over the place.

Depends. Sometimes they might and they might not. I don't know because I have never had a tattoo. You should ask a tattooer.
nope. Ive had 4 and none hurt,(one on my back, shoulder blade, lower stomach and back of neck) i like a lot of people found them addicting.
However if your getting a large tatt that will take more than one session to finish I could imagine there being some pain because the skin gets raw. Also some spotts like the top of your foot have thinner skin so it will be more uncomfortable in those spots
What do YOU think? The needle punches into your flesh, into LIVE tissue, over and over and over! This is INJURY and any injury causes some measure of PAIN. Some people tolerate the pain better than others, and some places on the body are less sensitive to pain, but regardless, there is injury involved and with any injury, there IS some measure of pain.

MY answer is no. I apparently can take pain very well. And if you looked at me you would assume I was some snotty little priss who would squirm. lol.. The artist was shocked, 10 min I was outta there!
But I do know people that say it hurt like heck. So I think it depends on your level of tolerance.

it is in the agreement for them to show little pain as possible. but it does hurt. also if your a man they shave you then do the tatoo in that spot.
