My tattoo was not bad at all. It hurt like some one pinching me in the same place essentially but that only hurt when the needle was right on the bone of my foot. The pain really started was when it was healing. From wearing shoes to sleeping on my stomach I had the healing pain for over a week. But it was worth it my tattoo is very pretty and i wouldn't get rid of it for nothing.
It really depends on how intricate the tattoo is and where you having it done. I got my tattoo on my right arm between the shoulder and the elbow and it wasn't that bad. No numbing medication. The first few minutes or so may be a bit painful, but after that, it becomes a "pleasurable pain (without seeming weird)." After while you'll just feel the constant buzzing on your body where the needle is going, but you will be just fine. Just take someone with you and hold a conversation or bring some music. i have several tattoos myself and so does my husband, and the best comparison either one of us has come up with is the pain is more of a burning sensation. not a needle poking pain. the by far most painful tattoo i have gotten to this point is on the top of my foot. i just got a very large tattoo friday night on my right rib cage. and it was not very painful whatsoever. but the more bone you have the more it is going to hurt. good luck and have fun, and just remember , it may hurt for a little bit, but you will have it forever and it is definately worth the short amount of time you will be in pain Full text of "Vashti; or, "Until death us do part." I would never get a tatoo, the body wasn't meant to be colored on. That's what I think. But if it's your choice go right ahead and do it. It will hurt though, but hey as long as your feeling pain you know your alive. Pain is your friend (:
Good Luck!!
I'm guessing if you're not old enough to know how to spell "pain", then you probably aren't old enough to get a tattoo. But, I got one on my ankle and it was painful.. but I had a lot of ink in the same spots. The pain as it was getting done wasn't nearly as bad as the pain the next couple of days. There's not really anything to compare it to. It's a needle going through the skin over and over. It's not supposed to feel pleasant.
it hurts really really bad maybe cause im a big baby and i got it on my lower back but still it hurt and feels like you getting stabed by a sewing needle over and over again
yeah its pretty painful, but after a bit you get used to it and sometimes skin goes a bit numb which helps. Think it depends on the indvidual, some can take a bit of pain, some faint at the mere sight of a needle.
Decide how much you can take and go for it..or not as the case may be!
I have many tatts, the places that might hurt the most (this is in general) would be the: pit of your arm and elbow; colar bone; rib cage; and some parts of your spine. As far as the rest of your body the pain isn't bad your body quickly nums the needles and you really just become use to it. If I had to compare it to something I guess it would be like plucking 1 piece of hair from your head minus the itching.
Needles with ink piercing your skin is the kind of pain its like.
it just depends on the location of the tattoo. my tattoos on my back and chest didnt hurt but the one on my ankle hurt like hell. but it was worth it. youll forget about the pain once its done.
i don't have one but i heard it just feels like something scratching you.. some say it's not that bad but i'd say some people find it worse than others...
Think of your worst sunburn. Now scratch it over and over with pin. That's what a tattoo feels like. And during the inking process your tattoo artist will occasionally wipe off excess ink and blood with a paper towel. This will eventually feel like He's wiping your sunburn with sandpaper. HOWEVER, this also depends on the size of your tat. Smaller tattoos are quicker and would be wiped less. Good Luck!
Some of my tattoos hurt like noboby's business. Most of them didn't hurt at all. Get a good tattoo artist, first off. A good artist with a light touch will make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The painful ones can be equated to anything from being pinched with tweezers many, many times in the same spot, to having a scrape and pouring rubbing alcohol over it.
Well, for me, it didn't really hurt that bad. It kinda felt like getting pinched hard. Report Abuse
I didn't think mine hurt at all. My advice, make sure you choose a design you are going to want to look at for the rest of your life. Don't jump on the celtic, butterfly bandwagon. Select an image that really means something to you. Perhaps you may consider getting a very small tattoo just to see how you react to the sensation of getting tattooed. You don't want to start something really intricate and find that you can't handle the feeling of being tattooed. Good Luck!
I think it just depends on where you get it done. They do hurt but it's bearable. It's like a burning stinging pain. I've got a few but the worse one was on the inside of my wrist and the easiest one was on my arm. But don't worry because the tattooist will allow you to come back a second visit to get it finished if you find it too unbearable. So go ahead & be brave and take the plunge!!! Good luck!
Yes. Ever pricked your finger with a needle? Over and over and over?
It was worth it though. Just remember, it will be over soon and you will be left with a beautiful tattoo.
costant bee stings for about 10 minutes and then the pain eases because the skin becomes knumb its really not to bad
I have three and want more take some gum or lollypops and a friend to talk to to distract you
yes tattoos really hurt like on rating scale i would say 10. i have a tattoo on my lower back and yes it hurt like hell. take a look at it here's my tattoo

on my first 2 i would say that it flt like a bumble bee stinging me. on the last 2 it was not as bad. in fact i nearly went to sleep. afterward they all felt like a bad skinned knee
ive never got a tattoo, but ive heard that they are extremely painful. idk what it would relate to, bc ive never go one.
it is almost like an irritating scratching feeling that goes on and on and on, so it isn't as painful as it is irritating
YA! They hurt, but how bad do you want it? It doesn't feel like anything else so have no comparison for you. How high is your pain tolerance? Millions of people have tats and I don't know of any of us who had such bad pain we wouldn't do t again....and again....and again :O) The itching while it's healing is worse, at least for me.
