  • You probably will if resistors aren't included already in the wiring for the unit. I have LED lights on my GSXR 1000 and they flash kind of fast compared to the stock lights. Next season I will just add the resistors. They are just a few dollars from a motorcycle accessory place, or you can just get them at Radio Shack.

    Just make sure you know what you're buying before you buy them. If you need the resistors, put them in right away so you won't have to take it all apart later like I am going to have to do.

  • They make LED 'light bulbs' that just plug right in. They have the same kind of socket as a regular bulb but they have LEDs in them and whateve circuitry is needed to make them glow. LEDs work on very low voltage, like 1.5 volts so they need at least a current-limiting resistor, but I think some of these bulbs have more than that in them.

    LEDs are much brighter and you can see them from behind from farther away. But they are not as visible from the side as incandescent bulbs.

  • no they are expensive though,I had an L.E.D. setup on my panhead and when the brakelight stopped working it was 300 bucks for a new one cause you cant fix it all you can do is replace4 it.I went and got a nice ol school lucas with an 1157 bulb for 20 bucks.
