I was just wondering, because I'm considering buying a BMW Motorcycle, do they let you choose between Automatic, Semi-Automatic or Manual? Because I'm absolutely horrible at Manual. And if they don't, can anyone recommend a good Automatic or Semi-Automatic motorcycle for a first timer? BMW do not currently make automatic transmission motorcycles, and I hope they never do. Real bikes have gears.
There are some Chinese automatic bikes (Q-Link, CF Moto, Lifan). Honda are also now producing automatic bikes for the Japanese market. Aprilia have an automatic bike coming out next year, and an American company (Ridley) are producing automatic cruiser-style bikes.
I'm going to stick with my lovely manual transmission Kawasaki until I can either afford a new BMW, or electric bikes become a realistic alternative.
Check out the Honda DN-01 it is made for Europe, it's also on the Canadian website, but not priced for canada. I don't know about Shanghai.
BMW have discontinued their C1, that had CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) which is the closest most motorcycles come to being automatic.
