| | About 3 moths ago i lied to a very close friend (who trusted me with with her deepest secrets) to cover up something about myself. The week we hung out i wasn't myself i had 2 very close family members die in my family, thought i was pregnant( i am not) and a close family member was recently paralyzed not including a family divorce. I acted very weirdly, i didn't know how to digest all that had happened in a week i ramdomly lied about things to cover it up, it was dumb i acted very immature. The next day i apologized on my own and told her i was so sorry i explained everything and asked her for forgiveness. I can't even count how many times ive said i was sorry, ive done everything. She told me she couldnt trust me and she wants nothing couldn'tith me. She has completely shut me out. she did say she forgives me and told me to let it go and forget about. I know what i did was wrong, but after all the stuff i went through you can tell she didnt give a **** it was about her being lied too. But i know its my fault. We havent talked for months it hurts because we were really good friends. I"ve tried everything. Should i just move on you can tell she doesnt care about me anymore or should i keep tring because we were great friends we wer really close. She said friends shouldnt be this much drama. "And that she has a great life anyway" or "I have a great life so whatever" and "You have a lot of friends so its not that big a loss" i dont know what that means. I dont know if shes jealous of me because of my sucess in things i have a lot of good things going on in my life. But she doesnt seem like a jealous person. Idk what do you think? Please comment. i neep help
there are some people, and i've known a few, where lying is a really big deal no matter what and with no excuses... these people, and your friend, need to realize that lying is much more common than they think... if grandma makes a really awfull dinner, are you going to tell her the truth, or just smile and say it's fine? if someone is suicidal, and their bf just told you they were leaving this person, if the person asked you about it, would you tell them or wait until they get any help they may need? ok, lying is usually wrong, but this is life, things happen, everyone makes mistakes... people lie for many different reasons... to save face, so they won't look bad, cuz they'd be embarassed, but unless it's done out of spite to hurt someone i don't think it should be the end of a friendship... don't let go of this person, but don't try to change her mind, and should her attitude about this change you'll still be there.
