story of anorexia different stories - Wattpad:: I know, because all these things once described me Its getting harder to do, though, because Mom and Dad are noticing that I poke http://www.wattpad.com/92694HOME | I am 13 years old. Mature for my age. My mom trusts me very well. She knows I'm smart and confident but I do have a soft spot. I have beige/pale skin, and I've only gave her HINTS that I would like to go tanning in a salon. She has done in before herself, so I do not understand why she wont let me tan. I once make a mistake and said she was very hypocritical about it. When I ask her she tells me that she has a weird olive colored skin so that's why she went tanning. How do I ask her to let me tan, without it being awkward or having to pour out my feelings? I wish I could just tell her I feel self conscious, but it's weird. She thinks I have a beautiful complexion, but I think I would be happier a little darker. How do I ask??
She probably won't let you because tanning salons can easily give you skin cancer. Also my sister went to a tanning booth and the tan didn't even show up.
So here's a much better way. Spray on tans. At a booth or buy your own stuff, its much better, shows up, washable, and won't cause skin cancer.
I don't know-she may not be able to handle it.That's just way too much to handle at this point.
First of all, why would you be afraid to talk to your mom? Second, do some research, go to www.tanningtruth.com, so you can inform her of the many benefits of regular exposure to sunlight like reduced incidents of internal cancers and emotional benefits as well.
Don't go tanning at such a young age. Please. Your mom would be crazy if she let you use a tanning booth at 13! Havent you read all those skin cancer stories. Use a self tanner lotion instead.
Well, it may help if you point out the pros of tanning.
Such as, it clears acne and helps improve your skin. Yes, the UV rays will cause your skin to age. However, it should not be a problem if you go sparingly. Doctors have even said going to tanning salons is beneficial to your skin as long as you only go occasionally.
If she still says no, consider spray tans. People who overdo it are the only ones who turn orange. Just get a light spray tan once a week.
Hope this helps. Good luck Sweetie! =)

Just tell her your too pale and you want to be darker.
If she says no just drop it until your a little older you too young anyway.
just ask her, but dont sound to whiny or demanding. just be like "look mom, would it be alright if i tried tanning, and if i dont like it or it look weird then you can say i told you so, but you never know untill you try it"
