Ammonia will remove most floor waxes. Very heavy build ups might require several applications to do the job. Remember that when using ammonia do not add bleach because chlorine gas will be released.

You probably have wax on all the floor to some extent so I would plan to do the whole floor so as to avoid leaving areas which look like spot cleaning was done.
