I may or may not seek a replacement (of any kind) if it will get too crowded with .. I'd say that to house this fish comfortably for its full life span, .. He flaps his fins like crazy to keep his body from floating sideways to the top. what appears to be a blister or abscess under his left pectoral fin.

One of my albino corydoras is missing most of his pectoral fins on one side and on the other he has a little more fin, but its also mostly gone. This is one of my favorite little fish and I just want to know if he's going to live a shorter life just because he's missing part of his fins. What do you think?

Notes: He eats like a pig, and seems perfectly healthy and other than the fins he's in really good shape. He even swims like the other corydoras.

  • When I worked at petsmart we got a shimpent in the one time of cory cats with fins like that. we weren't real happy (we actually had employees who cared about the fish and our store is well known in the area as one of the better pet stores) and we didn't sell them until they got better I think it's probably just an injury and he'll get better.

if it is permanent, he may have a shorter lifespan because he'll have to work harder to get around. I had a goldfish like this once :(
