My molly is black and it looks like some of the black came off, there seems to be slight bit of "fuzz" growth surrounding the effected area. Is there anything i can do for him? Is he going to make it.
I had to take the african sickle back to the pet store, he was also aggressive to the other mollys.
My molly isn't swiming "sideways" like i know fish to do before they die. He is sitting upright at the bottom of the tank, and swims around every so often. Just wondering if u guys think he will make it, and what the "fuzz" was..
It's a fungus.. go to wal-mart and look for tablets that kill fish fungus... if he is unside down in the tank he may die :(
What the heck were you doing keeping an African cichlid (I think that's what you mean by "sickle") with mollies?? The only time you'd ever want to do this is if you're using the mollies as live food ("feeder fish") for the cichlids. view - CHILDES - Child Language Data Exchange System:: 1 you+it's 1 youalright 1 youe 1 yougot 1 youhave 1 youik 1 youit's 1 youlike 1 youngest's 1 youngster 1 your'e 1 your+hands 1 yours'd 1 yours+. http://childes.psy.cmu.edu/topics/parentfreq.cdcHOME | What's New in Life Science Research:: Every little donation counts (and I just noticed we got our first one! I'm less worried about the fungus (the fuzzy growth) than the fact that your fish can't seem to move its tail. The fungus can be treated with any of various over-the-counter fish fungus cures. But if the fish has a spinal injury, which seems likely, it probably won't recover. I seldom say this about a sick fish, but I think you should consider euthanasia in this case.
It wasnt the other fish.. It was a disease called finrot.. you could get it again.. I know nothing about that fish though but that there is a disease called fin rot thar sounds exactly what you have..
Its good you removed the fish that was aggressive but...
Thats fin rot, a disease that eats away at the fins and sides of the fish. You need to go to a pet store and ask for some anti fish rot medications for the fish. treat the water and when things start to get better do frequent water changes to try and keep the disease form spreading.
