ok please help me i bought a fish four days ago and now i came back from home and its not flipped over or flipped to the side but its on the very bottom of my tank and its not moving its gills are not taking the water the eyes and mouth dont move or close is it dead please tell me
There could be many reasons why they're dead. We need to know what kind too.
It could be that you didn't de chlorinate your water or your water didn't have enough oxygen or that you over fed or you didn't cycle your tank.
I'm assuming its the later option. They might be dying from ammonia poisoning.
Im sorry, your fish is dead. The best thing now is to move on. The question is, how long is your fish's lifespan? If you were to buy a new fish then make sure it can live long. A goldfish is a good example. (If that is what type of fish you had then check what your feeding it and make sure there's enough oxygen in it's tank). If you do not have an aquarium but merely a fishbowl then the water needs to be changed every day or every two days since the oxygen levels are depleted by the fish's breathing. Believe it or not, fish need oxygen just like humans, but in very small amounts and the fish has the ability to pick even the smallest oxygen particles from the water. Feed it once every day (only a flake or two or you'll overfeed it which can also result in death). If you have multiple fish (about 3 or more fish) then you should change the water everyday. Do this by catching the fish and putting them in individual baggies and dump out the water in the bowl while replacing the fish in the new water once you fill the bowl up. Make sure that the water is room temperature or they'll freeze to death) also depends on the type of fish your getting. (You don't have to do all these things if your not getting another fish). If you have a tank then just ignore a few of the previous statements about changing the water unless your tank does not constantly replace the water. then do the same thing you would as the bowl. It seems like you have two choices now. 1: take my advice, move on, and get a new fish and promise yourself you'll do the best you can do to keep it alive
or 2: feel really bad for the fish and never get another one. If you chose number 2 then you will eventually become "fishaphobic" and even be scared about babysitting your neighbors pet fish without killing it. (not really haha). But there is a lesson to be learned in all aspects of life including fish sitting. Just treat your fishes death as a learning experience and now that I've given you the proper way to maintain a good fish, you'll do better from now on! Have a nice day :) I before E:: Sep 14, 2006 Please look it over, and if there's something more you'd like at this point finish fire firm first fish fit fix flat flight floor flow flower fly hear heart heat heavy hell help hence her here herself hide high .
