  • I am looking for my first bike, needs to be lightweight and a short seat for a short girl. Only wanting a 250 at the moment to get used to it.
    Any suggestions?

  • i pretty much guarantee the best 250 your gonna get is the ninja250r. that was my first bike, and for its size it really does have a good kick to it, but i eventually had to trade it in for a 650, but deff for a first timer i would recommend kawasaki

  • well first off how short of a girl and two kawasaki ninjas r pretty short bikes

  • My first bike was a Honda VTR 250, just sold it a few months ago. Nice low seat (760mm) and around 140kgs weight.

Go round all the local bike shops & try them for size, and have fun on your test rides.

  • hello

    Depends where you are?

If you are in the U.K you would start on a (Light Bike) Group A1 Provisional which would entitle you to ride up to a 125cc only and it can only have up to 14.5 bhp

The best bet is, even if you do not intend to buy from a retailer, to go to a motor bike shop and try some. Some have wider seats which are worse for short legged people.
You can also pick there brains as to local schools for learning if required.

  • Sport bikes tend to be taller for some reason.Cruisers are short.
Visit dealers and sit on their new bikes, used models will be similar sized.

Does Australia have a rider traing class? Take it.
Happy riding, you're just entering riding season.

  • Well as your in Australia look at the Hyosung GT models great for short people and cheaper than a ninja and they will own the ninja if needed. Just as reliable as the ninja.
