Southern women, particularly "gentry" have a softer, more "debutante" look to them. More "genteel" if you like. Northern women tend to look "hard". Might be because Southern women don't mind acting like, looking like, and being treated like, a lady, where many northern women see it as a sign of weakness.

"real tans" the "real hair colorings" not too a tooth pick and not too much make up Sothern girls genarally don't have to try as hard to look good we can wear pants and boots and a hat and look hotter than a girl in a mini skirt and a lb of make up on I guess it is our cleaner air and sunshine that helps so much
I know this sounds really stupid, but southern girls usually have very defined ankles. And dark skin. Tanned, but not baked. And healthy hair- shiny and for the most part, a little longer than shoulder-length. They wear alot of dresses and skirts, and usually look great even without makeup.
