    One of the biggest differences on a Twin Cam isn't as much the year as what style bike it came from... The Softail family bikes have a counterbalanced engine to reduce vibration, (TC88B) while Dynas and Touring don't, and rely on rubber bushings in the engine mounts. (TC88A)

  • fxrfxd has it bang on
    mostly it was just the flh gliders in 2000 that had efi, but by 2005 most models were efi, carb was still an option then but 75% of them or so were efi. so if you want a swap, you may have to swap a few other goodies like intakes and exhaust (or drill O2 ports)

  • One Major Difference is How much the EFI systems have been improved, If its a EFI bike. The early efi bikes were Magneti Marelli which sucked compared to the much updated delphi systems.
