mostly it was just the flh gliders in 2000 that had efi, but by 2005 most models were efi, carb was still an option then but 75% of them or so were efi. so if you want a swap, you may have to swap a few other goodies like intakes and exhaust (or drill O2 ports)

One Major Difference is How much the EFI systems have been improved, If its a EFI bike. The early efi bikes were Magneti Marelli which sucked compared to the much updated delphi systems.
