I currently have a Nikon Coolpix L18, but it didn't really take great pictures/videos for a show I went to last night. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or any suggestions about which mode my camera should've been set to? Thanks!! you can purchase FLIP high-definition camcorder for under $200. It is slightly larger than a pack of cigarettes.
If you cannot get it with the L18, there are really no other P&S cameras that have any features that will make them better in low light and far from the action requiring a longer optical zoom.

There is no reason you cannot get good shots of the onstage activities with the L18 .... it has a high ISO of 1600, plenty for getting good shots with the stage lighting.
You just need to make sure you are using the mode that will give you the highest shutter speed. That you will have to test and determine before the next concert.
Video is tough because the camera automatically sets the ISO and if there is not enough light at 30 fps, it will record dark footage
