Cellular respiration is the set of the metabolic reactions and processes that take place in organisms' cells to convert biochemical energy from nutrients into adenosine triphosphate (ATP), and then release waste products. The reactions involved in respiration are catabolic reactions that involve the oxidation of one molecule and the reduction of another.
The main organelle in which respiration takes place is the mitochondria, more specifically the inner membrane of the mitochondria
it is the process of oxidising food materials like carbohydrates to carbon di oxide and water. the energy released is trapped in the form of Adenosine triposphate (ATP) for other cellular activities. it occurs in the mitochondria of the cell. the miochondria are the power houses of the cell which provide the energy required for the activities of the cell.
cellular respiration takes place in 2 phases:
1) by glycolysis- glucose is converted to pyruvic acid (scene of action is in cytosol)
2) complete oxidation of pyruvic acid to ccarbondi oxide and water. (mitochondria)
cellular respiration is a three step process using glycolysis, Krebs Cycle, and fermentation. Respiration breaks down food to convert it into an energy source called ATP which is used during physical activity.

This is a process in which organic molecules are decomposed into inorganic molecules like CO2, H2O and NH3. The decomposition produces chemical energy which the cell stores in a compound called ATP. The ATP then provides the energy necessary for the enzymes which catalyze the reactions involved in cellular respiration.
Organelles called mitochondria are the site of aerobic respiration in the cell. They combine Oxygen and Hydrogen to produce H2O and are the biological equivalent of Hydrogen fuel cells.
The process of breakdown of glucose in the cells with the release of energy is called cellular respiration.
